Oyler Takes Blaenau Gwent Junior Title

In the second Welsh ranking tournament of the season, the Blaenau Gwent Junior and Cadet Open was held in Abertillery Table Tennis Club on Sunday 30th November 2014.

It was St.Mellons star Ryan Oyler who took his second welsh ranking title of the season. In a repeat final of the Cardiff Junior Open, Ryan took on his long term welsh team mate and domestic rival Chris Griffiths. This time he came away with a more convincing victory, winning 3-0 to secure the title and cement his Welsh Number 1 ranking to end 2014. Ryan Oyler beat local boy Joshua Stacey in the Junior semi finals 3-1.

Joshua Stacey couldn't repeat the form he showed at the Cardiff Junior and Cadet Open and lost 3-1 in the final of the Cadets in the Blaenau Gwent Cadet Open to Cade Short of Bridgend.
Cade Short also saw off 11 year old star Joseph Roberts in the semi finals.

Joshua Stacey will also end the 2014 year being the Number 1 Cadet in Wales. Joseph Roberts also ends the year of 2014 being Number 1 in the Under 13's category.

St.Mellons TTC are looking forward to 2015 and continuing in their progress to develop top players in Wales.
